If not for the long travel to San Jose, I would be here every single day. I guess that should tell you how much I love this haven of a place. I remembered the beautiful flight attendant on the plane from San Diego telling me that we’d arrive in San Jose at 8:45 p.m. Thank goodness, she lived up to her claim. Right on the dot!

We grabbed our own luggage and headed straight to the Customs Department where we were greeted by an oh-so-hot-and-pretty babe, uhm, I mean, customs agent. She smiled at me and I knew right away that her smile meant one thing- I was a breath of fresh air from her routine task of checking and stamping passports. I reciprocated with my best grin and flirted a little. What a nice way to start my day!

It was a blessing that I had been to San Jose a number of times, otherwise, I’d be squeezed to bits by the throng of people asking what I need or if they can drive me to my destination- all for a quick buck! I’d always been adamant in telling my friends who go to Costa Rica that they should be quick in telling these people that they don’t need anything from them. These aggressive natives tend to milk out all your cash by making you pay triple the legit fees! It would be sensible to just get transport services from a taxi service window right after you get through Customs and right before you exit the airport. The learned that I was, I had a cab driver with a large sign shouting out my name in bold letters awaiting my descent.
