Just as I thought that the attractions of Costa Rica have reached its full potential, I stumbled upon this pure jungle spa situated in Puerto Viejo, right across Playa Cocles in the Southern Caribbean coast. It’s the perfect place if you want to indulge yourself in a variety of body treatments aiming to soothe every tired muscle and abate work-induced stress.

Owing to its location (right in the jungle), the La Costa de Papito Pure Jungle Spa was built to complement its surroundings. Its architecture and design were radiating with rustic elegance, best demonstrated through the artisanal woodwork by native craftsmen and some local carpenters. If Tarzan was real, this is where he’d stay because of the natural feel of the place.

I was initially doubting to try most of the jungle spa’s services since they were all alien to me. I mean, I’d eat a banana any time of the day and who would say no to a chocolate decadence, but the massage therapists here actually want to wrap me with these foods! I really thought it was weird. Good thing the lady attendants were very accommodating in addressing my dubious repartees and in the end, they won me over with their gentle approach, using hands rather than machines to knead away the aches of my body. And the best part is, I wouldn’t have to worry myself about the possible repercussions of chemicals used on my body cause there was none! Nada. Zilch. Nil. Everything they spread out of my body spells natural.

I wouldn’t be endorsing something I haven’t tried and I’m telling you, my spa experience from La Costa de Papito had me whooping.
