Tandem Skydiving In Rio Hato, Panama

Add skydiving as one of the new activities that you can do at Panama. In this video, Rodolfo Blasser shows us a visual blow-by-blow of his first tandem skyjump. This all happened a few months ago at the 1er Festival de Paracaidismo Internacional Panama 2008.

Thirty five years ago, skydiving was introduced as part of the training for Air Force cadets. But it took thirty one years before a Panamanian Skydiving Association was formed. It doesn’t mean, however, that the sport is still an amateur venture in the country. Skydiving in Panama is easy and safe. Equipment and instructors have and must be certified by the United States Parachute Association as well as the the International Aeronautique Federation.

In order to learn skydiving here, I recommend you go tandem skydiving. It is the easiest and safest way to freefall skydiving, especially those thrillseekers looking for some adrenaline rush. And you don’t necessarily have to have training before you jump in. You and an instructor will take a plane and will be strapped together before jumping on a designated altitude. You drop 120 miles per hour to descend under parachute for two. It is probably one of the most exhilirating four to five minutes of your life before you make a safe and gentle landing on terra firma. All this usually takes an hour to do.
