Back In Costa Rica!

By BobbyRica | February 3, 2011

After a grueling 16-hour plane ride from the Philippines to US, I wearily took a Los Angeles stopover before heading off to my real home in Costa Rica. I thought the trip would take forever! But with much gritted teeth, I finally reached my destination.

I am just so glad that I’m home safe and sound. More so, considering that the US is experiencing a horrendous Arctic chill, I am glad I can go where it’s summer all the time.

Isn’t it weird that for someone who travels the world constantly, my impatience can sometimes get the better of me? I can’t wait to jump out of the plane and run to where I want to go. I should be used to going in queues and sitting the time away in airports by now. But the kid inside me is just too stubborn. Through the years, however, I have learned to temper that impatience. Thanks to that old reliable companion Jack Daniels.

Upon reaching Costa Rica’s terra firma, I kneeled down the tarmac and gave it a wet one! It’s only a month and I miss this place already. I am bummed out that I missed the annual dance in San Jose’s Parque Central last New Year’s Day. As I slowly recover from jet lag, I am already listing a few things I need to do here. I need to contact my posses. I skipped the grand party during Christmas and I was itching to reunite with my friends soon. And there’s no better way to make up for it than calling everyone for a little night time beach party!

I am excited with the thought. But it’s something I might want to follow through tomorrow. Let me just enjoy the peace and quiet happening NOW. No one’s pestering me on my cellphone. No emails to mess about it.

All I am contending with is the gentle breeze that has negotiated its way in my living room, cooling my brow and slowly allowing me to decompress. Meanwhile the familiar sound of the waves outside is like a lullaby that is beckoning me to sleep. And I think I may be soon tempted to give in.

But before I do that, I would like to announce that new things are in store at Expect the same old zaniness but with a little more spice. So visit us in a while to experience more fun (mis)adventures with BobbyRica.
