The Mystery Of The Haunted Vibrator — part 2

Hotel Iguanazul

I remembered looking at the Brazilian’s intense green eyes as she walked away from me. Her sarong billowed from the sea breeze as I realized I had just been bamboozled into carrying possible contraband. I looked at her until her figure disappeared into the crowd in Playa Junquillal.

I swiveled my body back, half-expecting the goons who had been pursuing the Brazilian babe to come at me. But they had never reappeared. I scratched my head, wondering.

Then, I almost jumped when slender fingers gracefully caressed my ear. “Bobby, who was that woman you were talking to?,” cooed the female voice behind me. “I saw you walk out of the water and talk to that woman.”

I turned around and saw a tall brunette in her early thirties smiling at me. She traced my left earlobe with her fingers like she usually does. There was concern on her face. I hooked my elbow to hers as we strolled back to the walkway, “No one I know… but she gave me this.” I showed her the cylindrical package that was tightly wrapped with cloth.

“I wonder what that is,” quipped Meredith, my companion’s name, feigning interest. Meredith had been my companion during the trip. We are good (platonic) friends who had a romantic fling years ago. She knew that I was puzzled by what this thing was. Is this why she was being pursued by those men?

Meredith followed me to our double in Hotel Iguanazul to see what was inside the package. “Maybe there’s drugs inside!” she exclaimed as I eagerly began to unwrap the cloth. When the finally yard of handwoven cloth fell away from the object inside, I almost couldn’t believe me eyes.

Inside was a rod made of roughly nine inches of sculpted wood. One end was fashioned to be a man’s (or a woman’s) head with tendril-shaped hair. The hair strands snaked the entire length of the rod. Each strand looked like dreadlocks. The head part was leveled so one can it can place it upright. On the other end, the tip bunched the Rastafarian-looking hair into a ball. The ball had been studded with little stars and oblongs, but is also sculpted in the wood. It had been sanded and finished so finely, the small sculpture looked so sleek.

“The woman gave you a wooden penis?” Meredith declared. “I meant a fertility idol…” She laughed so hard, she snorted and gulped between gales of laughter.

I looked on, beet red, “This is must be a practical joke…” My mind was reeling.

Then, Meredith let out howls of laughter as she showed me more. The rod had started trembling, and apparently, it was singing. We couldn’t make out what the tune was but it was a very soft melody that we didn’t recognized. “Your fertility idol that vibrates tunes! It’s a multifunctional sex toy!”

Meredith grasped the singing vibrator and threatened to throw it to my face. I gave her a withering look. “If you like it so much, why don’t you use it?”, I taunted as I stepped inside the bathroom and took a shower.

The cold water pelted my back as my sanity slowly restored itself. I can hear Meredith teasing me from the bedroom. She was groaning and moaning.

“Quit it!” I protested from the showers,” you made your point!” I heard more laughter and then more moaning. She was really going at it. It was really funny the way she was doing it. It sounded real.

Minutes after I had showered, I toweled myself dry and dressed up. I contemplated which wise guy could pull a stunt on me. It was then that the perfume of fresh flowers permeated the bathroom. The assertive smell snapped me back to reality. I couldn’t hear my friend anymore. “Must have fallen asleep,” I grunted.

“Meredith? Is that yours?” sensing that she might have dropped her perfume.

I went back to the bedroom. The smell of flowers had gotten stronger. It’s like industrial-strength potpourri had been sprayed inside! The offending relic was there. But no Meredith.

(To be continued.)
