Sometimes when push comes to shove, you got to know when to hit back. Even when you know you’re way over your head. In this case, it’s the Great White who has been snatching the the swordfish and tuna we’ve been trying to catch. Though we were in his territory, we knew that we won’t have a moment of peace with this guy. Frustrated, I decided to do what needs to be done. I jumped in the water with a knife on my mouth and met the threat head on. When I saw its big head the size of a small car speed towards me, my life flashed before my eyes. I remember what my shark wrangler friend had told me. Fear is the one that kills you. Fear did get hold of me. I floated on the water, paralyzed. The shark had no problem biting off my left arm and leg. The once blue green water soon became awash with deep red. Fortunately for me, I woke up from a deep long sleep at very safe sands of Jaco Beach. And the only wash of red that I see is the lady in a red sarong approaching me and is about to serve me a glass of my favorite Mojito. Cheers!
