Costa Rica by way of Cape Town.

After solving that groovy underwater mystery, I settled down to some relaxing downtime in Cape Town. I had seen cheap flights from here back to Costa Rica abounded, but I did not pay it too much heed. I was having too much fun making my way around Chapman’s Peak, heading to Hout Bay and surfing there every other day. I occasionally had a fling, an impromptu surfing instructor job, random beachcombing errands, a little something to do here and there. It’s great to be a little irresponsible like that, to work only when I felt like it. I felt like a hobo, albeit one with a substantially tidy sum that kept me comfortable when I didn’t feel like doing anything.

And so the last thing I expected to come across was a reason to come back. And yet there I was, bumping into an old friend, who ran into trouble: Stefani.
