Why Visit San Josè In Costa Rica

After taking a comprehensive and in-depth look in the region of Alajuela, let us shift our attention to the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, arguably the finest region of the country featuring the best Caribbean travel and adventure travel in the country.
However, you may be asking yourself why should I visit this blasted region if the everything else is pretty much what I expect from Costa Rica. First off, despite the fact that Costa Rica is blessed with bountiful natural goodness and resources, never expect to see the same beauties from the regions of the country twice. There is always something new to see, which makes your Costa Rica vacation much more meaningful.

If that reason alone is not enough to get your ass to visit San Josè, here are some other reasons to get you second-guessing:
* The place gives you a break for all the hokey nature tours. Let’s be honest here: I have mentioned a lot of places in the country where you can “enjoy the natural goodness of the land” that you may have puked all over your computer screen. Well, to break the monotony, San Josè actually features an urban region that features the country at its most metropolitan, as seen from its towering infrastructure and American fast-food joints.

* Most of the best hotels in Costa Rica are found here. There is no question that affordable lodging and comfortable accommodations are a must for visitors and tourist staying in Costa Rica. Therefore, they won’t have to look further for hotel than in San Josè, where there is a range of different hotels to choose from.
* Shop ’til you drop. Costa Rica isn’t really known for its shopping, but San Josè is the only region in the country that allows visitors to experience its brand of shopping. For those who which to take a break from their Costa Rica travels, chilling out in the mall is not a bad idea.
Bug Paradise in Costa Rica

We had such a strong (and welcoming) reaction to our bug feature, we decided to bring in more fun with this amazing photograph. Costa Rica is an insect lover’s dream. There are fifty to sixty thousand species of insects that thrive in the jungles of the country. Some say, the insects themselves (some of which are only found there) are worth the trip.
This adorable baby can be found in both Costa Rica and Panama. Let’s hope our readers get well acquainted with the giant grasshopper (Tropidacris cristata). Click here to see more amazing bugs.
Costa Rica Jade Museum

Being the capital of a country known for its Caribbean travel and adventure travel, San Josè is a pretty cosmopolitan region that is not completely definitive of what Costa Rica is all about. However, the high-rise buildings and malls do not take away the fact that the country is essentially defined by its forest, beaches, and natural sights. Case in point: the Jade Museum.
I know you’re probably want to puke once more after reading another tourist attraction that has something to do with nature. But swallow that vomit and bear with me for a couple of minutes. Unlike most of the places introduced to you on previous entries, the Museum boasts a wide collection of ceramics, gold, stones, and of course, pre-Columbian Jade dating back from 500 B.C. to around A.D. 900.
If you are not familiar with Costa Rican history, Jade is actually the most expensive material in the country. Aside from jade and the other materials mentioned, there are also terra-cota vases and figurines that happen to be modern and sleek in design, which shows that Costa Ricans possess technique and skill in making pots from clay.

If you’re not much appreciative of antique and stones, then you should at least find the view of Costa Rica from the 11th floor of the Museum a visual treat. It is best advised for you to bring a camera and your best poses.
The Jade Museum won’t be a problem if you’re coming from San Josè, as you can simply ask the locals for directions. Adults will have to pay for 500 colon, which is around a dollar. The place opens from Mondays to Fridays at 8:00 A.M and closes at 4:30 P.M., but you can simply dedicate an hour or so to see and enjoy the entire Museum.
